Communications Specialist

From long-form written narratives to photo essays, videos, and events, Caitlin Ware has the talent and varied skill set to tell the stories that reinforce the value Iowa State University research delivers to the state, the nation, and the world.

Caitlin joined the Office of the Vice President for Research at the end of September 2019, after previously serving as communications director for Iowa State University Information Technology Services. Before coming to Iowa State, Caitlin honed her storytelling skills in a range of jobs with multiple newspapers and magazines in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Iowa, including Philadelphia Style Magazine, the South Jersey Times, and the Ames Tribune.

What part of your job would you continue to do even if you didn’t get paid for it?

“I have been passionate about writing and storytelling since I was young, and it’s something I would find a way to work into my day-to-day routine even if it wasn’t part of my job.”

Caitlin can help with: Internal communications that help the Iowa State research community excel, and external communications that create greater understanding and awareness of the Iowa State University research mission.
