Sue Rabe

Accountant

Sue Rabe brings a range and depth of accounting experience – from full-fledged accountant to specialized accountant to warehouse and inventory management – to her accountant role in the Office of the Vice President for Research. Her take-charge style, attention to detail, and experience in fields that include agriculture, distribution, and construction provide her with the skills needed to lend excellent accounting, budget, and transactional support for the Office of the Vice President for Research central office and Laboratory Animal Resources (LAR) service unit.

Sue is an Iowa State University graduate with a bachelor’s degree in agricultural business with an emphasis in accounting. Prior to joining the Office of the Vice President for Research in August 2019, she worked as a warehouse and inventory manager for an egg producing company, as an accountant and accounts payable manager for a nationwide animal health products distributor, and as a full-charge accountant at a construction company.

What part of your job would you continue to do even if you didn’t get paid for it?

“I really like numbers. More importantly, I value the insights and knowledge accounting and proper budgeting provide an organization. I would continue to provide accounting services for others, even if I didn’t get paid.”
